STUDY: Telemedicine

Preferences of the general adult population regarding telemedicine consultations via video conference or telephone with a general practitioner

Dear Sir or Madam,

If you're reading this, it means you're interested in our study!

We are health economics researchers at the University of Montpellier, and we are interested in the preferences of the adult population regarding teleconsultations with a general practitioner via video conference or telephone.

This study is intended solely for adults of legal age residing in mainland France.

It aims to document the general public’s preferences regarding teleconsultation methods in primary care: in-person visits versus teleconsultations via video conference or telephone. The findings of this scientific study will help provide insights to healthcare professionals and policymakers on what truly matters to the public when choosing a method of consultation in primary care.

Details of the study protocol

Your participation is voluntary and may be discontinued at any time. It involves taking part in a focus group discussion during which we will discuss your views on telemedicine. The focus group will take place at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montpellier (Port-Marianne district in Montpellier) at the following address:

Richter Site, Raymond Dugrand Avenue, 34960 Montpellier

Your responses during the " " focus group will help us develop a larger-scale online survey to study adult preferences regarding telemedicine.

The discussion group will consist of several stages:

  1. Description of the study, its objective, and the subject matter;
  2. An open and informal discussion of the pros and cons of telemedicine compared to in-person consultations;
  3. Presentation and discussion of studies on telemedicine conducted elsewhere.

After the focus group, we will contact you again to ask you to complete a short questionnaire (which will take about 5 minutes).

The focus group will last approximately 1.5 hours, and each participant will receive a €30 gift card from Carrefour. You will be informed in advance of the focus group about the payment method and the payment timeline.
