Preferences of the general adult population for teleconsultation via videoconference or telephone with a general practitioner

If you are reading this, it means you are interested in our study!

We are health economics researchers at the University of Montpellier and we are interested in the preferences of the adult population for teleconsultation by videoconference or telephone with a general practitioner.

This study is intended solely for adults residing in mainland France.

It aims to document the practices of the general population with regard to teleconsultation methods in general medicine: face-to-face consultations and teleconsultations via videoconference or telephone. The results of this scientific study will provide healthcare professionals and public decision-makers with answers as to what really matters to the population when choosing a method of consultation in general medicine.

Details of the study procedure

Your participation is voluntary and may be discontinued at any time. It consists of taking part in a focus group during which your opinions on teleconsultation will be discussed. The focus group will take place at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montpellier (Port-Marianne district in Montpellier) at the following address:

Richter site, Raymond Dugrand Avenue, 34960 Montpellier

Your responses during the focus group will enable us to develop a larger-scale online survey to study the preferences of the adult population for teleconsultation.

The discussion group will consist of several stages:

  1. Description of the study, its objective, and the terms of the subject;
  2. Open and spontaneous discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of teleconsultation compared to face-to-face consultation;
  3. Presentation and discussion of teleconsultation studies conducted elsewhere.

Following the focus group, you will be contacted again to complete a short questionnaire (taking approximately 5 minutes).

The focus group will last approximately 1.5 hours, and each participant will receive a €30 Carrefour gift card. You will be informed of the payment method and payment deadline prior to the focus group.

Your answers to these questions will help us build a sample for our study.

All your answers are and will remain confidential, stored on a secure server at the University of Montpellier, and will be deleted at the end of the study.
